Vic: Slow snow but humans help

Victorian ski officials say natural snowfall has so far been well down on expectations
at Falls Creek .. Mt Hotham and Mt Buller.

None of the resorts have been able to open all ski runs at any stage this season ..

and many of the advanced trails reliant on natural snowfall are closed.

The Australian round of the World Cup Aerials .. Mt Buller's flagship event .. has
been cancelled today because of a lack of snow.

Organisers say the natural snow falls are the worst since 1973 .. and it would have
required five million litres of water .. converted into snow .. to make the jump site
usable.

But resorts say skiers are unperturbed by the lack of natural snow .. with bookings
at least as good as last year.
