Main stories in ABC's World Today
SYDNEY, April 14 AAP - Main stories in ABC's World Today:
* In the federal court in Sydney, former childcare operator Eddy Groves is being grilled
over his role in the collapse of the massive ABC Learning company and over allegations
made on Tuesday by his ex-wife.
* The gloves are well and truly off in the debate over national hospital and health
policy. South Australian Premier Mike Rann has warned his Victorian counterpart John Brumby
not to stuff up the opportunity for a revamp of Australia's healthcare system. But the
plan is facing a tough audience at next week's COAG meeting.
* One of Australia's top medical professionals is also warning the states not to sign
on to the prime minister's health reform plan. Dr John Dwyer, Professor of Medicine at
UNSW, says the prime minister is forcing his flawed plan on the premiers and the public
with undue haste.
